I Count Campaign
The I Count homelessness campaign was a three-part communications initiative designed to encourage participation in York Region’s homelessness enumeration survey, recruit volunteers to participate in the survey, and raise public awareness. Using storytelling to challenge misconceptions about what homelessness looks like, the campaign featured a series of original videos—our team’s first large-scale production, created on a lean budget. We developed the script and storyboard in-house, hired actors, and brought in a crew for lighting, sound, set design and makeup. The videos earned over 100,000 views on YouTube and were supported by programmatic digital ads, social media, and print materials, such as posters and bus ads. The campaign was recognized with both an IABC Gold Quill Award and an RGD In-House Design Award.
